Enhanced Reference List of Cochrane Review Protocols

The Cochrane Neurological Network maintains a list of protocols of new reviews registered within the Cochrane Library. Protocols are outlines of reviews in progress. The list is “enhanced” because it creates subsets of information contained on the Cochrane Library.

The standard path for registering a systematic review is the registration of the title, the submission of the protocol and, finally, the completed review. This list contains the titles of protocols of neurological interest.

Master List of Neurological Journals (to be updated)

The Cochrane Neurological Network identifies Randomised Controlled Trials and Controlled Clinical Trials from journals of neurological interest for reference within its Master List of Neurological Journals.

This list is obtained through the following steps:

  • A search strategy is created for two medical databases, MEDLINE and EMBASE, in order to identify journals publishing Randomised Controlled Trials or Controlled Clinical Trials of neurological interest.
  • The Cochrane Neurological Network identifies the Cochrane Review Groups which perform the handsearch activity for these journals as well as the years for which they complete the searches.
  • The name of the journal, the Cochrane Review Group which handsearches it, and the year for which the handsearch was last completed are compiled within the Neurological Master List of Journals. .

Journals written in capital letters are journals without a current handsearch activity.
